The Uma Scarf is worked from the centre outwards, with increases on right-side rows to create its soft triangular shape. Once the main body is complete, a contrasting edge is worked along two sides for a simple but striking finish.
This is a very flexible pattern. If you’re working with a limited amount of yarn, simply continue increasing as directed until you run out — making it ideal for precious fibres or special skeins.

Small (Medium) Large
Finished Measurements
Length: Approx. 90 (110) 150 cm
Height: Approx. 35 (45) 60 cm
Gauge
Before wash and blocking: 25 sts x 37 rows = 10 x 10 cm in stockinette stitch on 3 mm needles
After wash and blocking: 21 sts x 39 rows = 10 x 10 cm in stockinette stitch on 3 mm needles
Blocking significantly changes the fabric, so swatching is important for final size.

3 mm [US 2½] circular needle
60 or 80 cm cable length
Yarn Requirements (Generic)
Main yarn: 50 (75) 125 g of a luxury fingering / 4-ply yarn, approximately 105–115 metres per 25 g
Edge contrast: Approx. 3–5 g of the same yarn type in a contrasting colour
This pattern is designed for lightweight, high-drape fibres such as cashmere or similarly soft luxury blends. The finished scarf benefits from yarns that bloom gently after blocking and hold a smooth stockinette fabric.
