As local as it gets — The Red Raspberry is a hand-dyed yarn studio based right here in Rangiora, North Canterbury, and this beautiful 8 ply range is dyed in small batches from premium New Zealand Merino sourced through Wild Earth Yarns. Every skein is dyed by hand, which means each one carries its own subtle variation in tone and depth — the kind of character that mass-produced yarn simply can't replicate.
The base yarn is a superwash-treated DK / 8 ply Merino that is super soft, machine washable, and a genuine pleasure to work with. At 220 metres per 100 g hank, it's a versatile weight that suits a wide range of projects — sweaters, cardigans, hats, cowls, and accessories where the hand-dyed colour can really shine. Use it on its own for a rich, saturated result, or hold it alongside another DK yarn as a tonal highlight to add depth and interest to your project.
Currently available in 6 colourways: the vivid Red Raspberry, earthy Olive Grove, fresh Teal, soft Silver Grey, botanical Leaf Shade, and warm Birch Truffle.
