A hat with character. The Terrazzo Hat by PetiteKnit is worked from the bottom up, combining a folded ribbed brim with a smooth stockinette body for a clean, structured silhouette. The top is neatly shaped with decreases for a polished finish — a satisfying knit that looks far more complex than it is.
Available in sizes from toddler through to adult L, the Terrazzo Hat is a wonderful project for gift-giving or adding a handmade touch to your own wardrobe.
Construction
- Worked bottom-up in the round
- Ribbed brim worked first, then folded and knitted down for a neat, stable edge
- Body worked in stockinette stitch
- Crown shaped with decreases; finished on double-pointed needles

Gauge & Needles
- Stockinette gauge: 18 sts × 26 rows = 10 × 10 cm [4 × 4 inches] on 4 mm [US6] needles
- Rib gauge: 21 sts × 31 rows = 10 × 10 cm [4 × 4 inches] in 1×1 rib on 3.5 mm [US4] needles
- Needles: Circular 3.5 mm [US4] / 40 cm [16 inches] and 4 mm [US6] / 40 cm [16 inches]; Double-pointed 4 mm [US6]
