The Sunday Sweater is a relaxed, cosy jumper worked from the top down, designed to be worn with comfortable positive ease and layered easily through the cooler months.
The sweater begins with a ribbed yoke, shaped with increases for a clean, modern fit. Short rows are worked once the yoke is complete to gently raise the back neck — a thoughtful detail that improves comfort and wearability. From there, the body and sleeves are worked in smooth stockinette stitch and finished with classic ribbed edges.
This is a satisfying knit with straightforward construction and plenty of rhythm once established — ideal if you enjoy a project that feels substantial without being overly complicated.
📌 This is a PRINTED knitting pattern — no digital download is included.

Recommended Yarn Type (Generic Guidance)
This design is intended for a chunky-weight fabric with loft and softness.
You can achieve the correct fabric in one of two ways:
Option 1: Single chunky yarn
-
Chunky / heavy aran yarn
-
Approx. 100–150 m per 50 g
-
Wool, alpaca, or wool-blend with bounce and softness
Option 2: Two strands held together
-
A worsted / aran base yarn held together with a laceweight silk-mohair
-
Creates a soft halo and lightweight warmth without heaviness
💡 The key is achieving the correct gauge and drape, not the brand.
