Light as a breath of air and impossibly soft against the skin, Sesia Oliver is a lace-weight yarn from the Italian mill Sesia that earns its place in any serious knitter's stash. Spun from 70% Suri Alpaca and 30% GRS-certified polyamide, it combines the legendary softness and natural halo of Suri fibre with just enough nylon to give the finished fabric durability and a little structure. The result is a yarn that feels genuinely luxurious — cloudlike, warm without weight, and possessed of a subtle sheen that makes every stitch glow.
Suri Alpaca is the finer, silkier cousin of Huacaya alpaca, prized for its long, lustrous fibres and the distinctive halo it produces in knitted fabric. Used on its own, Sesia Oliver creates featherlight lace shawls, wraps, and stoles with an ethereal drape. Held double alongside another yarn — a fine Merino, a silk blend, or even another lace weight — it adds a soft, enveloping halo and a layer of warmth that transforms the finished piece.
