Soft mohair, loose cables and generous balloon sleeves give the Plait Sleeve Sweater its cosy character. An oversized fit and turtleneck make this a lovely statement layer for cooler days, with seamless construction for a neat finish.
Worked from the top down, the construction is inspired by Suzie Meyers' contiguous method. It is similar to a top-down raglan, but with more frequent shoulder increases. Knit in one piece to the end of the shoulders, then divide and work flat to the underarms before continuing in the round. The sleeves and neckline are picked up and knitted in the round, with no seaming required.
Suitable for intermediate knitters.
Designed to be worn with 10–30cm / 4–12 inches of positive ease, depending on your preference. Positive ease is the extra room between your bust measurement and the finished sweater. The model wears approximately 30cm / 12 inches of positive ease.
