Yarn
This pattern uses a 12 ply yarn. We stock a great range of 12 ply yarns at The Wool Shop — pop in or get in touch and we’ll help you find the perfect colour.
- Quantity: 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 × 50g balls (XXS through XL)
Quantities are approximate and may vary between knitters. Check ball bands to ensure all yarn is from the same dye lot.
Needles & Extras
- 1 pair each 5.50 mm (UK 5 / US 9) and 4.50 mm (UK 7 / US 7) knitting needles, or sizes needed to achieve correct tension
- 2 stitch holders
- Wool needle for sewing up
Tension
23 sts and 25 rows to 10 cm over pattern, using 5.50 mm needles.
To check your tension, cast on 39 sts using 5.50 mm needles and work 42 rows in pattern as given for size XS of Back, then cast off loosely. If you have fewer stitches to 10 cm, use smaller needles; if more stitches, use larger needles. Correct tension is essential for achieving the finished measurements.
