October Sweater

The October Sweater is one of those oversized knits that just works.

It’s worked from the top down in simple stockinette stitch, with raglan increases shaping the yoke. The first section is worked flat to shape the neckline, then everything joins in the round for a smooth, seamless finish.

Wide rib edges at the cuffs and hem give it structure, while the folded neckline keeps it feeling polished.

This is an easy, wearable sweater with that relaxed, throw-it-on feel.

Yarn notes

This design is worked with two strands held together:

• a fine wool yarn
• held with a silk mohair or halo yarn

This gives you a soft fabric with a light halo and beautiful drape.

If you’d prefer a single yarn option:

• look for a yarn that gives you 21 stitches over 10 cm
• a DK or light worsted yarn will usually work well

Just keep in mind:

• held yarns = softer, more airy finish
• single yarn = slightly more structure and definition
