Needles and Tension
The sample is knitted in DK / 8ply yarn on 4.5 mm needles. Tension is 18 stitches per 10 cm in garter stitch; row tension is not critical. You'll also need a cable needle and a tapestry needle for finishing.
Using Finer Yarn
You can also knit this scarf in finer yarns. As a guide, try 3.25 mm needles for 4ply or 3.5 mm needles for 5ply. For finer yarns, the designer recommends knitting the Large size to give you a little more length.
