A beautifully textured top-down sweater with a relaxed, generous fit — the Ingrid Sweater Man is worked in a three-section knit and purl texture pattern that gives it real visual interest without being complicated. Designed with approx. 20cm of positive ease for a classic, comfortable menswear silhouette.
Perfect yarn match: This pattern is ideal for knitting in Crucci Aella 8ply or Wool Yarn Co 8ply — both are 100m per 50g ball and meet the 20 sts gauge on 4mm needles perfectly.
Important: Knit a tension swatch before starting — gauge needs to be correct in both width and height to achieve the finished measurements. Block your swatch before measuring.
Construction
Worked top-down with short rows shaping the sloping shoulders on the back yoke. Shoulder sections are picked up and worked separately, then joined to form the front yoke. Front and back are joined at the underarms and the body is worked straight down in the round. Sleeves are picked up from the armholes and worked in the round. Finished with a folded double rib neck edge.
