A sweet textured top-down baby sweater with beautiful knit and purl pattern sections separated by delicate eyelet details — the Ingrid Sweater Baby is a lovely heirloom-style knit that works up quickly in baby sizes. Designed with a relaxed fit and a folded double rib neck edge for a neat, comfortable finish.
Perfect yarn match: This pattern works beautifully in Crucci Merino, Touch Yarns Merino, or Crucci Pure Wool — all soft, baby-friendly yarns that meet the gauge on 4.5mm needles.
Important: Knit a tension swatch before starting — gauge needs to be correct in both width and height. Block your swatch before measuring.
Construction
Worked top-down with short rows shaping the sloping shoulders on the back yoke. Shoulder sections are picked up and worked separately, then joined to form the front yoke. Front and back are joined at the underarms and the body is worked straight down in the round. Sleeves are picked up from the armholes and worked in the round. Finished with a folded double rib neck edge (optional: add thin elastic thread for extra stretch).

Gauge
20 sts x 32 rows = 10 x 10cm in texture pattern on 4.5mm needles, after wash and blocking.
Difficulty
Suitable for knitters comfortable with top-down construction, short rows, texture patterns, and working in the round.
