A simple, breezy summer tee from Kiniki Knits — the Campbells Bay is everything a warm-weather knit should be. Capped dolman sleeves, a scooped neckline, and a relaxed fit make it an easy, versatile piece that works as well over a swimsuit as it does with jeans. Worked in cotton aran gauge yarn, it knits up quickly and produces a fabric with the natural breathability and softness that cotton does best. Named after a late-summer family trip, it carries that same unhurried, easy energy in every stitch.
The construction is approachable and logical. The body is worked in the round from the bottom up to the armholes, where the front and back are divided and worked separately to the shoulders. The capped dolman sleeves are formed by gradually adding stitches at the armhole edges — a neat technique that creates the sleeve shape without a separate sleeve piece. Shoulder seams are joined, and stitches are picked up to form the neckband and sleeve ribbing. Rated advanced beginner, it's an excellent first garment for knitters ready to move beyond accessories.
