The Bea Blouse is a sleek, lightweight top designed to sit close to the body, with a clean boat neckline and a beautifully refined silhouette. It’s worked seamlessly from the top down, allowing you to adjust length as you go and try it on during knitting.

Short rows at the neckline subtly raise the back for a better fit, while the yoke is shaped first with sleeve increases and then with classic raglan increases. The body is worked in the round in smooth stockinette stitch, with the sleeves completed last.

The result is an elegant, softly structured blouse with a delicate halo and a modern, minimal finish.

This is a printed pattern.

Fit & Style Notes

  • Designed with approximately 2 cm of negative ease

  • Intended to skim the body rather than sit loose

  • Lightweight, drapey fabric with a soft haze

  • Ideal as a layering piece or worn on its own

If you prefer a looser fit, sizing up is recommended.

in stockinette stitch on 4 mm needles, after washing and blocking

Swatching and washing your swatch is essential β€” mohair fabrics relax noticeably.

Needles

  • 4 mm circular needles (40, 60, and 80/100 cm as needed)

  • 4 mm double-pointed needles (or Magic Loop)

Yarn Requirements & Structure (important)

The Bea Blouse is worked with two strands held together throughout.

Yarn Type (generic)

  • Fine silk-mohair lace yarn

  • Approx. 210–225 m per 25 g

  • Fibre blends typically include mohair + silk for softness, drape, and halo

This construction creates a fabric that is:

  • Light but warm

  • Soft against the skin

  • Elegant rather than bulky

***You can also knit this in the WHISPER yarn as a single strand)

Total Yarn Required (already combined)

Because two strands are held together, the quantities below are the total yarn used, not per strand.

Fabric BehaviourΒ

  • The fabric blooms after blocking

  • Negative ease means it relies on the yarn’s elasticity

  • Mohair gives forgiveness without weight

This is a refined knit, not a chunky sweater.
