Yarn Substitution

Any good quality merino DK / 8 ply will work beautifully for this vest — the garter stitch texture looks stunning in merino and the fabric will hold its shape well. Do check the meterage on your chosen yarn, as the original Chaska Tacama has a slightly higher meterage per ball than many standard 8 ply yarns, so for most sizes it’s worth buying an extra ball to be safe.
