The Valerie Blouse is a soft, elegant top worked from the top down in one piece. It’s constructed like a cardigan, with a gentle slanted opening across the front that is later finished with buttons. The yoke begins with sleeve increases, then moves into classic raglan shaping. Short rows are added to lift the neckline for a comfortable fit.

The body is worked back and forth on circular needles, and the sleeves are knitted in the round. The final result is light, feminine, and beautifully finished.

Because the recommended yarn grows after washing, be sure to knit, wash, and dry a swatch before checking your gauge.

Sizing & Fit

The Valerie Blouse is designed with approximately 2 cm of negative ease, giving it a neat but comfortable silhouette.

Designed to fit bust:

75–80 (80–85) 85–90 (90–95)
95–100 (100–110) 110–120
120–130 (130–140) 140–150 cm

Finished bust circumference:

78 (83) 89 (94) 98 (109) 118 (129) 138 (149) cm

Length (mid back):

If you prefer a slightly looser fit, simply size up β€” the shaping remains flattering across all sizes.

Yarn Type Needed

This blouse can be knitted in one of two ways:

Option 1 β€” Two strands of laceweight mohair held together

Creates a light, airy, slightly fluffy fabric with beautiful drape.

Option 2 β€” One strand of soft luxury fibre (such as cashmere or fine wool)

Creates a smooth, elegant fabric with a clean surface and gentle warmth.

Whatever fibre you choose, ensure the yarn meets the gauge of:
23 stitches Γ— 33 rows = 10 cm in stockinette on 3.5 mm needles.
