The Storm Slipover Junior is a cosy, textured children’s vest worked from the top down in one piece. You begin with the back yoke, shaped flat, then pick up stitches for each shoulder. These are joined to form the front yoke, and the two pieces meet at the underarms before the body is worked in the round on circular needles.
Neck and armhole ribbing is picked up at the end for a tidy, comfortable finish. The textured stitch pattern adds interest while still being approachable for confident knitters.
Sizing & Fit
The slipover is designed with approximately 10 cm of positive ease so it sits comfortably over tees, long sleeves, and dresses.

Yarn Type Needed
This slipover can be knitted in either of the following yarn types:
Option 1 — A classic DK / 8-ply wool
Warm, durable, and perfect for children’s garments.
Option 2 — A slightly thicker light-worsted wool
Gives a little extra structure while still meeting gauge.
Whichever option you choose, make sure your yarn meets the required gauge:
20 stitches × 32 rows = 10 cm on 4 mm needles
in the textured pattern.
