The Stockholm Slipover is worked from the top down, starting with the back yoke before shaping the shoulders and front, then joining everything for the body. It’s finished with neat rib edges and that beautiful Italian bind-off PetiteKnit is known for.

The clever short-row shaping through the shoulders gives it a great fit and drape — it sits nicely whether you wear it over a crisp shirt, a dress, or your favourite long-sleeve tee.

This is a firm favourite in our shop. Jo knitted the sample we have in store, and it gets admired constantly — so if you’d like to see it knitted up in real life (and feel that gorgeous fabric), pop in and have a look.

About the Yarn

The original pattern uses a light fingering (3ply) wool held together with a lace-weight mohair, which gives the fabric its signature softness and airy halo. You can easily recreate the look using a fine 4ply merino or wool blend held with mohair, or keep it simpler with a single strand of soft DK if you prefer less fluff.

Designed for around 6 cm (2¼ in) of positive ease

• Worked top-down in stockinette stitch

• Gauge: 19 sts × 27 rows = 10 × 10 cm on 4.5 mm needles

• Difficulty: ★★★☆☆ (intermediate)

• Sizes: XS–5XL

• Suggested yarn weight: Light fingering (3ply) wool + lace-weight mohair, or light DK (8ply) substitute
