Agenete Cardigan Pattern

The Agnete Cardigan is one of those timeless pieces that looks like a technical marvel but feels beautifully wearable. It’s knitted top-down in brioche stitch, giving it that distinctive squishy texture that’s soft, warm, and incredibly flattering. The neckline and button bands are worked at the same time using double knitting — no picking up later — which gives it a neat, seamless finish.

You’ll start by shaping the back of the neck, then work your way down through the yoke before joining everything together for the body. The sleeves are picked up and knitted down in the round, so there’s minimal seaming (always a win).

About the Yarn

The original design uses a light fingering (3ply) wool held together with a lace-weight mohair for that soft, slightly fuzzy finish.
If you prefer a smoother, more defined look, you can use a 4ply merino on its own, or for that signature PetiteKnit halo, hold a fine mohair alongside it.
