A warm, two-colour beanie from Kiniki Knits — the Old Forest Hat has the rich, textured look of brioche knitting but is worked in a simpler modified fisherman's rib that's considerably more approachable. The two-colour construction gives the finished hat a depth and visual interest that makes it look far more complex than it is, and the top-down construction lets you try it on as you go to check the fit before you commit to the cast-off.
The bottom band is folded underneath and knitted into the cast-off for a tidy, professional finish — a small detail that makes a real difference to the final result. The pattern is written in two sizes: S/M for bigger teens through to medium-sized adults, and L for larger heads. A pompom is optional but recommended.
