Bergen Vest

A beautifully considered vest from Kiniki Knits — the Bergen features a large, drapey collar and subtle waist shaping that give it a relaxed elegance that works across a wide range of outfits. Two length options are provided: the longer length (pictured) works well worn out or partly tucked in, while the shorter option suits high-waisted styling with less tuck.

The vest is worked with one strand of 4-ply yarn held together with one strand of a fluffy lace-type yarn — a combination that opens up a wide range of colour and texture effects depending on your choices. A silky 4-ply paired with a soft alpaca-silk lace yarn produces a fabric with exceptional drape and a subtle halo; the possibilities are genuinely your own to explore.

The body is knitted in the round from the bottom up to the armholes, with the upper front and back worked separately flat and joined at the shoulder seams. I-cord edging along the armholes provides a refined, interesting alternative to standard ribbing.
