Yarn Requirements
We recommend Patons Dreamtime Merino 4 Ply (50g balls) as a substitute for this pattern. It's a beautiful 100% merino 4 ply that knits to the same tension and delivers a wonderfully soft finish ideal for babywear.

Quantities are approximate and can vary between knitters. Ensure all yarn is from the same dye lot.
Needles & Extras
- 3.25mm (UK 10) circular knitting needle (60–80cm long) and 1 pair 3.25mm knitting needles (optional), or size needed to give correct tension
- Cable needle
- 5 stitch-holders
- Wool needle for sewing seams
- 3 buttons
Tension
28 sts and 36 rows to 10cm over stocking stitch using 3.25mm needles.
To work a tension square: using 3.25mm needles, cast on 42 sts. Work 54 rows stocking st. Cast off loosely. Check your tension carefully — if fewer sts to 10cm use smaller needles; if more sts use larger needles.
