Needles and notions
- One pair each of 3.25mm (US 3) and 4mm (US 6) knitting needles.
- One set each of 3.25mm (US 3) and 4mm (US 6) double-pointed needles if working the hat in the round.
- Stitch holders.
- 5–6 buttons.
Tension
22 stitches and 30 rows to 10cm (4in) over stocking stitch using 4mm (US 6) needles.
