The Poppy Tee is worked from the top down with a beautifully structured yoke. First, the upper back yoke is worked with increases, then the shoulders are shaped from stitches picked up along the slanted edges of the back yoke. Stitches are then picked up along the shoulders and the rest of the yoke is worked on a circular needle, first flat and then in the round.
The body is worked in the round, and the sleeves are worked in the round using either double-pointed needles or the Magic Loop technique. The tee is finished with a folded neckline featuring built-in double knitting for a clean, polished edge.
Swatching is essential for this design. Wash and block your swatch before measuring, as the recommended yarn types can grow after washing.

Yarn Requirements and Total Metreage
Choose your yarn by metreage and washed, blocked gauge, not by weight alone. For the single-strand option, use Lana Grossa Cool Wool 5 Ply: 100% extra-fine merino, 50g / approximately 160m per ball. The length guide below retains the pattern’s single-strand metreage targets and converts them to whole balls of Cool Wool, rounding up. Swatch to match the Poppy Tee’s gauge of 23 sts x 32 rows per 10cm after washing and blocking; adjust needle size if needed.
The two-strand laceweight figures are calculated from either Kid Cotton, Setasuri, or Silky Kid requirement at 25g / 212m, doubled so both strands are included.The total is the combined length of both strands, not the length of each strand.

Allow for your project: The Cool Wool counts cover the stated metreage targets, using the upper requirement where a range is given. Allow extra for swatching, length adjustments and differences in tension, especially where the remaining metreage is small.
How to read the two-strand total: 2,120m combined means 1,060m for each strand. If using the same yarn for both strands, buy enough balls to cover the combined total. Do not double the total again.
Light wool held with silk mohair
For the original mixed-yarn option, follow the printed pattern’s separate quantities for the wool and mohair. Each yarn is worked as one strand alongside the other; their weights and metreages are not interchangeable.
Always wash and block a swatch before choosing a substitute. Two strands of laceweight or 4-ply are not automatically equivalent to a single strand of 5-ply; yarn construction and gauge matter.
