The Alice Top is a versatile knitting pattern featuring a classic V-neckline and flattering stockinette stitch construction. This intermediate-level pattern offers flexibility in both construction method and final fit, making it perfect for knitters looking to create a wardrobe staple.
Construction Details
The Alice Top is worked from the bottom up with the body knitted seamlessly in the round to the armholes. The work is then divided, with the back worked in one piece and the front split for an elegant V-neckline. Each section is finished separately in stockinette stitch worked back and forth.
For added versatility, the pattern includes instructions for working from the middle using a provisional cast on, allowing you to adjust the final length at the end by working the body top-down.
Important: Start by knitting a swatch to determine which needle size gives you the correct gauge. Wash your swatch as the recommended yarns will grow with washing and wear.
